wheat weight?

Have you heard about the new book, Wheat Belly?
Wheat Belly: Lose the Wheat, Lose the Weight, and Find Your Path Back to Health

I just checked out the audio book from the library yesterday, and I think I am the very first one to get it.  It's a brand new book by William Davis, MD and it talks about the wheat that we are eating today, how different it is from the wheat of the early 1900's, and some of the differences between the people of the 1950's (slender, low rates of diabetes, low to no obesity rates, etc) to the people of the 2010's (heart disease, obesity is commonplace, diabetes, buying an extra seat on the airplane just to be able to fit, and on and on).  How fascinating!!  I've only listened to the first 30 minutes and it is wonderful.  I will keep giving updates, but my first impression is WOW!  Could this be true?
It almost feels like I have been brainwashed for years - eat whole grains, heart-healthy cereals, bagels, oatmeal, wheat bread, etc...  This is quite a switch in thinking, but if, IF it makes a difference, it could be well worth checking out and experimenting...
Peace.
