A couple of thoughts

1.  Jordan had her first detention this morning, 7:45-8:15am - for not turning in a specific homework assignment.  It's quite possible that she turned it in without a name on it, or turned it in and it didn't get in the gradebook, or something like that.  She gave me a whole handful of old assignments last week from her folder that she didn't need anymore.  So, being the organized kind of person I am, I threw them all out.  It's possible Worksheet Questions 59-67 was in that pile.  But, alas, we will never know.

So, she did her time this morning.  And hopefully her detention experiences will be far and few between.  :)

2.  Bonnie got sprayed by a skunk yesterday morning (again).  Right before I had to load her up in my van and take her to the vet for a vaccine booster.  Geesh - we drove with the windows open there and back.  And, I left her out in the little entryway at the vet's, so she wouldn't stink up their office.

Gave her a bath yesterday afternoon, but she still stinks to high heaven.  Bath #2 this afternoon!

3.  Heading back to low-carb country!  Even though I have been walking tons, I think I have been eating more too.  So, the scale keeps going up and up.  Starting this morning, I'm doing my best to eat lower-carb, cutting out most breads and cookies, and eating more veggies and salads.

I'm also going to start keeping a food journal and writing down what I eat.  I hope this gives me some accountability.  If I put it my mouth, I need to write it down.

4.  Sunday was an awesome day!  I made some totally delicious cinnamon swirl craisin bread - the house smelled heavenly.  Fresh out of the oven with melted butter - yummmmmm.  I brought the rest of it in to work, because I would surely eat it all tonight if I had the chance.

We had lost lots of big branches from a couple of trees during the last windstorm a few weeks back.  So, I spent about 2 1/2 hours of steady work picking up branches, breaking them down into manageable size, and burning them.  I had a great fire going; the wind did an awesome job of stirring it up when it needed it.  I was so sore from that workout too - it's amazing the muscles that we don't use on a regular basis.  And, then when you do some manual labor like picking up branches and hauling them to the fire, you get sore in all kinds of places.  It felt great though - a good kind of sore.  The sun was shining most of the day.  Jordan played out on her trampoline (taking a break from her cell phone) for a couple of hours and even had both dogs up on the trampoline laying with her in the sun.  The shower after working outside was great.  I made bagel-dogs - homemade bagel dough wrapped around fresh German weiners from Zink's meat market.  Very tasty!  All in all, a great day!

Just a few random thoughts I wanted to write out...
